BLI offers you the EHEP (Elementary and High school program). This program will enrich your Elementary or High school education providing you with the opportunity to become a fluently English speaker and enjoy the multiple activities that Canadian education offers to their students.

The EHEP offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the Canadian Education system. You will be integrated into an elementary or Secondary school (grades 3 through 11) according to your age and to the grade you are currently taking in your home country while living with a Canadian family.

You will also have to opportunity to participate in cultural activities and excursions.

Program

The Elementary and High school experience program is an academic immersion program. You need to have an intermediate level of English as all the classes you will be taking will be held in that language.

You will have the opportunity to attain a higher level of English fluency as well as learning French. You will be placed in a local educational institution and will have the opportunity to integrate with local and international students.

Length

4 to 12 weeks.

 

 

Accommodation

Living with a host family is a great and unique way to immerse yourself in the cultures and languages of Canada, for it allows you to live a family experience.

All our host families are carefully selected and have to meet BLI quality criteria. We ensure that all host families houses meet safety and hygiene standards.

Your homestay host(s) will provide you with a private or shared room that is fully furnished.

For elementary students (grades 3 to 6), families provide 2 meals per day during the week and three meals per day on weekends. You will be part of the hot lunch program offered by your school.

For secondary students, families will provide the 3 meals per day. Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner.

You will be part of the family, will be included in the family activities and will learn about their lifestyle and culture. You will be asked to respect the family rules at all times.

Our families are local English speaking or bilingual families that are carefully screened and selected to guarantee your safety and well-being .Bli offers full time support and is available 24 hours a day

Activities

Have fun by discovering Montreal and surrounding cities. BLI organizes a variety of activities. You will participate in two evening activities during the week and one full day weekend activity.

  • Tour of old Montreal
  • Underground city
  • Montreal Science centre
  • Biodome
  • Biosphere
  • Planetarium
  • Insectarium
  • La Ronde amusement park
  • Laser tag
  • Apple picking
  • Imax
  • Cinema day
  • Swimming day
  • Fine arts museum
  • Shopping day
  • Dog sledding
  • Snow tubbing etc..

Activities will vary depending on the dates chosen. Additional weekend tours and activities may be arranged upon request at an extra fee

Admission requirements


  • You must be between 8 and 17 years old at the time the program starts
  • You must have an intermediate level of English
  • You must apply for the program a minimum of 3 months prior desired start date
  • You must be currently studying in your home country

 

Application process


  • Complete the program application form
  • Provide the following paper work
    • Latest copy of your report card
    • Copy of the original and translated birth certificate
    • All the documentation necessary to process CAQ (BLI will process this document for you)

Once your application is accepted you have pay to the registration fee, (non refundable). The program fees should be paid in full four weeks prior your program start date

UNIFORMS

Students will be asked to wear a color code uniform depending on the school they are coming to.
